Presenting the IUSD TMJ Symposium 2023:
ABCs OF TMD & OROFACIAL PAIN:
Comprehensive Review of Patient Care
This second lecture course on the multidisciplinary management of TMJ disorders forms an important part of the TMJ Institute’s educational mission. This year’s focus is addressing initial diagnosis and treatment options. Here at Indiana University School of Dentistry’s TMJ Institute, we have created a true, multidisciplinary clinic model that is both innovative and unique by offering what we call a “one-stop shop” for the management of patients with challenging, chronic TMJ problems. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, contemporary, collaborative care for all TMJ patients in Indiana and beyond and to inform the current and future generations of oral health care professionals about the fundamental principles of the management of temporomandibular dysfunction.
The course content will be delivered via a series of didactic lectures, case presentations and a moderated panel discussion. It will provide you the opportunity to learn from a range of specialists with specific expertise in the management of TMJ disorders including an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, orofacial pain specialist, physical therapist, psychiatrist, comprehensive care dentist, and social worker.
