Get a true dental student experience
Create a wax model of a tooth. Suture an incision. Fill a cavity. These are just a few of the procedures you’ll learn how to do at the Indiana University School of Dentistry Dental Day. This daylong event for predental students will give you a hands-on introduction to the field of dentistry and show you a day in the life of a dental student.
Whether you already know that dentistry is your chosen career or you just want to learn more, Dental Day is for you. You’ll visit our state-of-the-art preclinical simulation lab to get a better idea of what it takes to be a dental student, develop firsthand knowledge and skills that will boost your confidence, and be more competitive when you apply to the school.
Dental Day is presented by the Indiana University School of Dentistry American Dental Education Association (ADEA) chapter.
Dental Day Registration
The Dental Day Spring 2024 event will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Attendees will learn about the Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree program offered by Indiana University School of Dentistry.

9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
| Lab Exercises: Take and Pour Impressions, Question and Answer Session with Current IUSD Students, Dental Waxing, Introduction to Surgical Periodontics Presentation by Dr. Vanchit John, Bleaching Tray Fabrication
Students rotate through five stations
30 minutes at each station |

1:30 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
| Lab Exercises: Occlusal Cavity Preparation, Amalgam Restoration, Composite Resin Restoration, Suture Lab, Tour of School of Dentistry
