When you participate in service-learning opportunities, you will work with global communities, in the US and internationally, using your new dental skills while experiencing cultural diversity and challenges to healthcare access.
Service learning gives you the opportunity to take part in activities that are meaningful both to you and to those you are serving. The impact should be both immediate and long lasting. Your professional decision making may change throughout your entire career.
Improve lives through service learning

Serve your community—or the world
With programs that have historically included Kenya, Central and South America, and right here in the United States, students have had myriad opportunities to change lives while doing and receiving oral health care. Students obtain skills they need within the school setting and then take them into communities to share them with the underserved around the world.

My best memory as a student has been my service learning trip to Mexico. I learned a lot about the culture and helped many families in need of dental care.
