Apply to our periodontal visitor program
The Graduate Program in Periodontology at Indiana University School of Dentistry offers prospective applicants an opportunity to visit with and shadow residents. The purpose of the visitor program is to expose prospective applicants to advanced study in periodontics as well as to talk to residents and faculty. This is ideal for those considering a future career in periodontology.
The visitor program can vary in length from a few days to a week. For longer duration programs, please review the Periodontal Preceptorship Program. There is no cost to the students for the visitor program.
Depending on length, a periodontal visitor program will expose candidates to the following aspects of the postdoctoral program: didactic portions of the program, periodontal literature seminars, treatment plan and/or surgical seminars, and clinical portions of the program. The clinical portion will include participation in the postdoctoral clinic and exposure to non-surgical and surgical techniques, including guided tissue regeneration, soft and hard tissue augmentation, periodontal plastic surgery, dental implant surgery, and IV sedation. It may also include interdisciplinary seminars.
Interested applicants should email the Department of Periodontology Graduate Program Director, Dr. Monica Gibson, monigibs@iu.edu.
