Indiana University School of Dentistry is pleased to announce Dr. Scott Conley has been appointed to serve as the new program director of Graduate Orthodontics, effective June 1, 2024.
After ten years of exemplary service as program director for Graduate Orthodontics, Dr. Kelton Stewart is transitioning to a more active role as assistant dean of faculty development.
“We are grateful for Dr. Stewart’s exemplary leadership of the graduate program over the past decade and for the legacy of excellence in orthodontics education that he has created,” said IUSD Dean Dr. Carol Anne Murdoch-Kinch. “Dr. Conley is an experienced clinician, scholar, and educator who will bring to this new role a wealth of knowledge and innovation to lead our program into the future.”
Dr. Conley received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, and his certificate in orthodontics at Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining to Indiana University in 2022, he was orthodontic program director at University of Missouri–Kansas City. He has served on the dental school faculties of Vanderbilt University, University of Michigan, and SUNY Buffalo.
“All of us in the IU Department of Orthodontics and Oral Facial Genetics are extremely excited to see Dr. Conley assume the role of Graduate Orthodontics program director," Dr. Stewart said. "He is an outstanding educator with a tremendous record of leadership and many significant contributions to the profession. We are eager to work with him as he helps elevate the educational experience of our students, expand the program’s reputation, and extend the program’s rich legacy of excellence.”
"I would like to thank Dr. Stewart for his leadership and for the opportunity to continue the rich history of IU Orthodontics,” Dr. Conley said. “I look forward to working with our students, faculty, and staff even more closely in this new role. Our future is bright, and together we will accomplish great things."
