Provisional and definitive options for implant assisted management of edentulous arches
Presented by Dr. Dean Morton
This presentation will detail options for implant assisted management of edentulous arches. The importance of adequate complete removable prostheses will be discussed in the context of optimizing tooth position and transferring information in a digital workflow with procedures such as dual scanning. The benefits, design and fabrication of templates (positioning, reduction and implant placement) and will be considered with focus on communication between team members. Different options for provisional restorations from a loading (immediate versus delayed), workflow (analog or digital) and method (conventional conversion, Smart protocols and reverse scanning procedures) perspective will be detailed. Lastly, contemporary material and method options for definitive prostheses will be considered.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the relationship between of tooth and implant position and the importance of a quality removable prosthesis.
- Detail workflow and clinical options for provisional full arch prostheses.
- Consider different options for definitive full arch prostheses.
- Understand how placement and loading protocols can impact treatment alternatives.
