The Department of Biomedical and Applied Sciences includes the Divison of Cariology. Our mission is to generate globally recognized scholarship through:

  • Consistently developing and maintaining quality research
  • Supporting a pedagogical approach in teaching
  • Understanding the relationship of biomedical and applied sciences and how it integrates with civic engagement
  • Providing an environment that enables dental students to increase the depth of their cariology knowledge
  • Promoting the integration of caries risk assessment, nonsurgical management, and minimally invasive concepts that are based on the latest scientific evidence
